Clark County 4-H QOV SPIN Club Quilts of Valor fulfilling their Mission...w/Updates

Our Clark Country 4-H Quilts of Valor SPIN Club has decided to contribute 3 of our seven Quilts of Valor to our National Quilts of Valor Foundation.  Every year, there are thousands of deserving Service Members and Veterans who are nominated to be awarded a Quilt of Valor, but who go un-awarded and 'uncovered' - there is just soooo much need and not enough generous souls to help us create ALL the Quilts of Valor that are required at this time.

To date, Volunteers have awarded over 110,000 Quilts of Valor since 2003.  While this is an astounding achievement, currently there are over 4 Million Service Members and Veterans in the US alone who are eligible to receive a Quilt of Valor, and that number continues to grow every day.

It is therefore, our supreme privilege and pleasure to contribute these 3 Clark County 4-H Quilts of Valor, created by three of our 4-H youth members to comfort, honor and heal deserving Service Members and Veterans - wherever they may be in our world.

This is their humble 'Thank YOU' to men and women who have sacrificed and served to protect their freedoms and sooo many others like them.

UPDATE 12/5/2014:  These three (3) 4-H Quilts of Valor have received their destination orders and will be travelling to our Landstuhl US Army Hospital in Germany, where our wounded are taken directly from their site of injury, including the battle field.  On Thursday, December 11, 2014, our East Central IL QOV Group will ready these three Quilts of Valor for their final journey.

And you'll remember our Tiffany, who created a Remembrance Quilt to honor her 'Grandpa Joe', a Vietnam Veteran, who lost his battle with Agent Orange last year.

Recently, three of our remaining 4 Quilts of Valor were awarded to local area Veterans, including this WW II Veteran:

We have one remaining Quilt of Valor that will be awarded to a very special Veteran, as yet to be nominated.

UPDATE 12/12/2014:  the remaining Quilt of Valor was awarded to an area IRAQI Veteran, nominated by his family as a result of battlefield injuries sustained from a mortar attack in Baghdad. It was our privilege to cover and serve comfort and honor upon this amazing Veteran...Thank YOU.

Thank YOU to each and every one of you for your sacrifice and service for our country,
